Live Oak Music Festival

Live Oak Music Festival

Live Oak is a long-standing annual fundraiser for KCBX public radio. My job was to take Clayton Benge's commissioned poster artwork and build a complete design system and campaign around it — then execute every deliverable.

Overview

Live Oak Music Festival had a logo and a history, but no design system. Every year the campaign is rebuilt around that year's commissioned poster art. In 2024 that artist was Clayton Benge. I extracted the visual language from his illustration — the birds became recurring design elements, the colors and typography were derived directly from his artwork — and built a coherent system that held together from a street banner to an Instagram post to a printed program. Deliverables included Instagram content, event signage, a street banner, four Mailchimp emails with original content, a press release, New Times ads, a postcard, and on-site marketing coordination.

Six years. One client. Two completely different brand systems. The SCR Full Arc is my most original creative work and my longest brand stewardship engagement — and together, the chapters tell the most complete story of what I do.
